Our Beliefs

Isaiah 12.3 says With Joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

We have taken the word “WELLS” to help explain what we believe.

W. stands for worship.

Worship is the Purpose of the Church.  Everything we do should be an act of praise and worship to the God who is worthy.  Jesus said "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” Knowing God is our goal in life.

E. is for evangelism

Evangelism is the Mission of the Church Jesus gave us our mission, it is the marching orders of the church. Matthew 28. 19  "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20  "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. A disciple is a student or follower, we are commanded to baptize them for the remission of sins, and to receive the Holy Spirit, then to further teach them all things. For this job Jesus promises to always be with us equipping and supporting us for the task.

L. is for love

Love is the Mark of the Church. Jesus said John13. 35  "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." People are supposed to recognize Christians by their extraordinary love for each other.  John 3. 16  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. We should learn to love as God loved.  Milltown Christian Church is a very loving church!

L. is for learning

Learning is the Response of the Church.  Hebrews 11. 3  says “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” So upon this understanding we should want to know more about this powerful creator, who can speak and create all we see and more.  God has revealed Himself through His living Word. It is not complete as we are not able to fully understand God. But as John says in John 20.30  “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31  but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” So there is enough in the word for us to believe. God will reveal so much more to us in Heaven, but for now we learn with joy and awe of the things He has revealed in His word!

S. is for Service

Service is the Privilege of the church. We do not serve others to create a good name in the community, or to be seen of men. We serve because it is an honor and a joy to do so. We serve God by serving others. James says in James 1.27  Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. Real Christianity is not selfish but willing to help others.  Galatians  5.13 “…through love serve one another.”

So as a Church I think we are doing very WELLS.
